I love talking with Carter. He has the most active imagination. He is ALWAYS talking (especially when we're driving in the car). Here are some of my favorite recent conversations with him.
Carter: I have paws.
Me: You do?
Me: You do?
Carter: Yes, I'm a kitty.
Me: Are your paws furry?
Carter: (Rubbing his "paws") They have hair on them. And they're soft, too. I'm a nice kitty. I don't bite. You can pet me on the tail. Except I don't have a tail. (Now, in a whiney voice) Mommy, I need a tail.
Me: Today we're going to buy Daddy a present for finishing his big test. What should we buy him?
Carter: A new toy. Daddy doesn't have any toys.
Me: What kind of toy should we buy him?
Carter: A big truck. And I need one, too.
Me: You do? Did you take a big hard test, too?
Carter: Yes, it was a VERY hard test. I really need a present.
Carter: I love you, Mommy.
Me: I love you, too, Baby.
Carter: I love you when you poke me with sticks. (FYI: I don't poke Carter with sticks! This one made me crack up.)
