Sprayground Fun

Summer is here (officially in 3 days), and it is HOT! We love being outside, and we've been keeping cool by swimming and playing at the sprayground in our friends' neighborhood (Thanks Casey for having us over!). Yay for summer!

Thomas Live!

After our trip to California, Kevin went on a retreat with the guys from church, and the boys & I went with friends to see Thomas Live on stage. They loved it (Bryson especially is very big into trains right now!), and they sang the songs we heard all weekend long. My parents were in town and were soooo helpful. I had gotten a flat tire, so they drove us to and from the show, took my tire to get patched, and then my dad put it back on for me once we got home. Thanks Mom & Dad!!!

The Best for Last

The best part of our San Diego vacation (besides seeing our friends, of course!) had to be the beach. Watching the sunset and feeling the ocean breeze was like solid proof of God's presence. The kids played in the sand and ran in and out of the waves to exhaustion. We went to the beach 3 times in our short 5 day vacation, but still we wanted more! I can definitely understand why Greg & Lesley chose to make California their home!

A Piece of History

We spent one morning in San Diego walking along the bay and looking at the the old merchant ships, submarines, and aircraft carriers. Being the son of a former navy man, Kevin wanted to climb aboard the aircraft carrier and relive a little history. The kids loved climbing in the old jets and exploring the giant ship.

Sea World

While in San Diego, we visited Sea World (twice, actually!) The rides, the shows, and the animal exhibits were all fantastic! I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the adults. I would go every week if I could!

Together Again in San Diego

Last week, we took our first ever family vacation (to a destination other than Grandma & Grandpa's, that is!) We flew out to San Diego to visit our wonderful friends, Greg & Lesley and their kids. Carter & Emery have been best friends since they were babies, and they were so excited to see each other again! All 4 of the kids (plus baby Lincoln) got along so well and had so much fun together. The adults were certainly outnumbered! Our time together was very much like a whirlwind and over too quickly. I love Lesley like the sister I never had and wish we lived closer, but it was wonderful to be able to visit!

Random Stuff

The last few weeks have been very busy for our family! I have lots of blogging to catch up on, but first I just wanted to post these fun random pics. Kevin, 33 going on 8, is forever playing on the boys' toddler sized toys. I'm always saying, "Don't break that! You're too big!" (Since obviously he is completely unaware of this fact. :-) I got my hair cut last week, and the stylist straightened it just for the day. Kevin hated it, so I won't be going to all the trouble to style it this way myself, but it was fun for a day.
