Ribbon Day

The boys love ribbon day at swim school! Once every few months, the teachers recognize the kids' new skills by giving out ribbons. All the kids get so excited and love to show off their accomplishments!

Fall Break

In the month of October, Carter's pre-k class learned all about farms. Fall break was in the middle of October, and we took advantage of a few days off school by driving to see Nana & PawPaw (It still seems crazy to me that we now have to work around the school's calendar!!!). Since they live on a farm, I decided to make a little photo book for Carter to take back to school and share with his class. It was a fun trip, and the book turned out to be really cute!

Pumpkin Pickin'

It has become a fun tradition in our family to visit the pumpkin patch in early October. We get a big wheelbarrow, and everyone gets to pick a pumpkin. Each of us can only have one, but it can be ANY one we choose. It's so much fun! Last year the boys picked little baby pumpkins, but this year they couldn't even lift the ones they chose! Carter & Bryson both chose dark orange (almost red) misshapen pumpkins. Kevin chose a white one, and I picked out the perfect orange one (it may not be interesting or unusual, but it's everything a pumpkin should be!!!) I love this tradition!

Campout

OK, so I'm soooooo far behind on my blog!!! I'm going to start posting events that happened nearly a month ago, and work forward to the present. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't blogged in so long because I've been wasting all of my computer time playing a ridiculous computer game on Facebook! NO MORE!!! I'm setting my priorities straight, and recording memories comes before Farkle. :-)

So .... rewind to the 2nd week in October...
Our community group had a campout at our place! It was cold and wet from all the rain that week, but still it was super fun! We had hotdogs & smores, fireworks & glow bracelets, good conversation & great friends. Three of the dads & kids even slept outside in tents. Carter slept out with Kevin & had a total blast. (They took this last photo of themselves in their sleeping bags.) Bryson & I "camped in" upstairs! So fun!!!

Jog-A-Thon

Last week, Carter participated in his very first all-school fundraiser. The kids raised money for the school library by collecting sponsors and running laps around the playground. As homeroom mom, I got to make the banner for our class to bust through at the start of the race. On the day of Jog-A-Thon, Carter was recovering from being sick but still managed to run 17 laps and raise more than $100 for the library! Go Carter!
