Christmas

One word best describes this Christmas - blessed. It was so perfect; everyone was healthy and happy and together. The kids are 4 & 6, such fun ages. Mimi and Pop-Pop were here and helped make this Christmas super special. They came to our house on Christmas Eve to read the story of Jesus's birth and "The Night Before Christmas" and to watch the boys open their gifts from each other. On Christmas morning, they came again and we all opened gifts, had a delicious lunch, and just spent the day together, celebrating the birth of our Saviour. Perfect!

Church Christmas Program

One of my favorite Christmas traditions is the program the kids put on at church each year. They always sing songs, and it's always soooo cute, but this year they also told the story of Jesus's birth, line by line. Carter went first; his line was, "In those days, Caesar Augustus issued a decree." He said it loud and clear. Bryson's was, "The people were terrified, but the angel said, 'Do not be afraid!'" He said his line with enthusiasm. :-) After the Christmas story, they sang Jingle Bells, Joy to the World, and Away in a Manger. It was adorable!

Christmas Train

Every year when we visit the Christmas Train, we have so much fun, but this was the best year yet! Unlike previous years, it wasn't completely miserably freezing, so we stayed late... way past bedtime... and did everything we wanted to do. Of course we rode the train, but we also visited Santa, played on the playground, rode the go carts, took a hayride, and the boys rode a kiddie train and carousel. What a blast!

Carter Appleseed

In the fall, the Kindergarten classes took a field trip to the apple orchard. I was so happy to be able to join them. There was so much to do - including picking apples, pumpkins, a hay maze, milking a (pretend) cow, a hay ride, and much more. It was also Carter's first bus ride. What fun!

Jog-A-Thon

These next few posts are a bit of a flashback. When I blogged last, I accidentally left these events out.

The first is Jog-A-Thon, the elementary school's big fundraising event. The kids collect sponsors and run as many laps as they can to raise money for their school. Bryson and Carter had a blast running laps and having popsicles with their classmates. They even raised enough money to go to lunch with the principal in a limo!

LIghts!

Last night we walked through Rhema for the second year. They decorate with 1.2 million Christmas lights, and somehow it looks like even more! They have thousands of lights set to music and even a tunnel you can walk through with lights dancing overhead. It was soooo cold, but luckily they had hot chocolate to keep us warm. :-) Mimi & PopPop came with us this time, and everyone loved it!
